goTRG Partners with Camillus House to Install Mobile Computer Lab for Homeless Individuals

MIAMI,FLA – March 3, 2022 – Camillus House has teamed up with goTRG to reduce the digital divide and eliminate technological barriers for youth and adults experiencing homelessness. A formal dedication of a new mobile computer lab, complete with new laptops, took place today at the Norwegian Cruise Line Campus of Camillus House at 1603 NW 7th Ave in Miami.

Portable and compact, the new computer laboratory allows Camillus House to maximize space of a multi-functional room. It is an extension of Camillus House’s workforce development program, which currently includes an employment center, job placement, coaching, and will be expanding to offer life skills courses through, “Camillus YOUniversity”. Most excitingly, clients will continue to have trainings, classes, and meetings without sacrificing their access to technology.

"Computer equipment is crucial for expanding a successful employment services and technology program. Thanks to goTRG, clients will be able to utilize the laptops as portals for educational achievement and job opportunities; ultimately to obtain economic stability,” said Hilda M. Fernandez, Camillus House CEO.

goTRG generously donated more than $20,000 in top-of-the-line laptops, protective casings, and software, adding 40 computers ready to be used by men and women who rely on Camillus House’s daily programs and services. This was on top of the company’s other considerable in-kind donations of additional tech hardware such as wireless headphones and tablets.

“We’re honored to support Camillus House and be part of an initiative that’s eliminating technological barriers for our community,” said Sender Shamiss, CEO and founder of goTRG.“Our hope is that through access to these electronics, individuals in Miami will be better equipped to receive education and training and find job opportunities. We’re looking forward to the positive impact the new mobile computer lab will have on Camillus House’ clients.”
